Rare cause of facial asymmetry

Yehia Y. Mishriki, MD

VOL 117 / NO 4 / APRIL 2005 / POSTGRADUATE MEDICINE

A 63-year-old man was seen in the hospital for symptoms of pneumonia. On physical examination, facial asymmetry was noted, which was first thought to be the result of a previous stroke. However, closer inspection revealed that this was not the case, and the patient informed the examiner that he had had this "problem" since childhood.
