[Puzzles in Practice]

Bilateral eye tumors of long duration

Yehia Y. Mishriki, MD

VOL 116 / NO 5 / NOVEMBER 2004 / POSTGRADUATE MEDICINE

A routine physical examination of an otherwise healthy 82-year-old man revealed a fleshy, yellowish, glistening, soft mass in the lateral epicanthic region of each eye. These lesions were nontender and moved anteriorly with lateral gaze. They were asymptomatic and did not interfere with vision or tearing. The patient related that he had had these lesions since childhood and that they had enlarged somewhat over the years.
